Description Ganthiya is a popular crisp snack made from gram flour and spices in Gujarat, the western state of India. There are many varieties depending on thickness and flavor. These are usually thicker than the sev.

    Place the oil (for frying) on stove.
  2. Prep. (00:02:00)
    Mix oil, water, salt, soda and ajwain into a large bowl.

    Add Gram flour to the mixture in the bowl and mix well.
  4. Cook (00:02:00)
    Fill the prepared dough in a ganthia/chakli maker and then squeeze out the dough into the heating oil on the stove. Turn them into the oil once while heating after a minute.

    Serve hot ganthiya with fried chili and/or salad of papaya and carrot.
