Matar paratha

Description: Matar paratha is Indian bread stuffed with green peas and spice. It is a served in breakfast with curd.

Instructions:
  1. Prep. (00:03:00)
    Mix wheat flour,1 tbsp. salt,red chili powder,turmeric,2 tbsp. oil and start kneading the dough by gradually adding water into it. Keep it aside for a while.
  2. Cook (00:02:00)
    Heat 1/2 tbsp. oil and add peas stir it for a couple of minutes.

    Now in a mixture grinder mix green chili, garlic, ginger, salt, lime juice, curry leaves, onion, coriander and the heated peas and grind them to create its paste.

    Now mix the paste of peas and spices with mashed potatoes.

    Now make balls of the dough and roll it with rolling pin & place a small ball of potato-peas mixture in between and seal by wrapping the flat dough around. Again roll the stuffed ball with rolling pin to make it a stuffed roti like puran poli.

    If you feel the above step is difficult you can also place flat layer of potato-peas mixture between two flat layers of dough and seal the edges.
  7. Cook (00:04:00)
    Heat a non-stick pan / griddle and cook each paratha, applying some oil on both sides, till it turns golden brown in color from both sides.
