DescriptionTheplas are a Gujarati bread and are used for regular meals, traveling and for picnics. Served with curds and chutney. Theplas can be enjoyed hot or otherwise. Sometimes the whole jeera, til or doodhi can be added to enhance the flavor of theplas.

Ingredients

  1. Prep. (00:06:00)
    Mix all the ingredients including fenugreek (leaves only) but except 0.5 cup oil into a bowl and knead into a semi-soft dough and keep it aside covered for 3 minutes.

    Apply the oil to grease the dough and again knead it.

    Divide the dough into 30 equal portions and roll out each portion into a 125 mm. (5") diameter flat circle using a rolling pin.
  4. Cook (00:15:00)
    Heat a non-stick pan/griddle and cook each circle, applying 0.25 teaspoon oil on both sides, till it turns golden brown in color from both sides.

    Serve thepla with tea, curd or chutney.
