Carrot / Gajar Halwa

Description This is a quick and easy version of carrot halwa recipe made with milk powder. You can use milk, condensed milk or khoya (khoa) instead of milk powder.

  1. Prep. (00:10:00)
    Wash and peel the carrots. Remove the inner hard part by cutting carrot into a finger long pieces.
  2. Cook (00:05:00)
    Cook carrot pieces along with milk and sugar in a pressure cooker on a medium flame.
  3. Cook (00:05:00)
    Remove the contents from cooker and mash it with potato masher and again put it to heat on high flame and keep moving it briskly until liquid in it is burned.
  4. Cook (00:02:00)
    Add milk powder, ghee, cardamom powder and the dry fruit pieces(keeping aside few to garnish) into it. Mix them properly.
  5. Prep. (00:01:00)
    Put it into a serving bowl and garnish it with pieces of dry fruits. Halwa is ready to be served. Serve it hot.
