Description Ganthiya is a popular crisp snack made from gram flour and spices in Gujarat, the western state of India. There are many varieties depending on thickness and flavor.

    Place the oil (for fry) on stove.
  2. Prep. (00:02:00)
    Mix oil, water, salt, soda and ajwain into a large bowl.

    Add Gram flour to the mixture in the bowl and mix well.
  4. Prep. (00:02:00)
    Take a small portion of dough one by one and place it on a wooden flat surface. Press it using your palm and move it forward to flatten the dough. Remove the flattened dough using a sharp knife and put it into the frying oil and cook it.

    Serve hot fafda with fried chili and/or salad of papaya and carrot.
